A ship without a commitment to a specific direction will sail the seas much as a victim to the winds. And perhaps after much time has passed it might accidentally reach a port. A port that is not chosen consciously but it is rather a result of drifting about. Nothing is accomplished other than more experiences of being on the sea. And after reaching the port one sails back to the sea hoping to find the perfect port that seems to exist only in the realms of fantasy and hope. On the other hand, a ship with a direction, steered by the conscious choices of the captain and fueled by his desire to reach the chosen destination is an entirely different experience. Commitment not only manifests results quickly but it expands consciousness through taking responsibility of our creation and navigating in it. Nothing manifests without commitment. And it always always begins at one’s own heart, the very inside of one's self. Not as a result of outer conditions but as a manifestation of your desire to move to a specific direction. Commitment is born inside and it is a choice that is one-pointed and decisive. A choice that shows that one is willing to do whatever it takes to come to the fulfillment of the desire. In the art of Ascension commitment is a cornerstone. It requires a discipline to constantly keep enlivening the practice even when the surface mind does not have a clue what is happening or the release of stresses momentarily cloud the experiences. It is a commitment to move toward the port of higher consciousness and keep the direction no matter what the ocean does, whether it is calm or stormy, whether the sky is sunny or it’s darkened by thunder clouds. The captain always knows the direction and brings the ship back to it again and again. Most of us humans have pitifully low standards for what we consider our life to be about. It takes courage and boldness to reach beyond the horizon of the known and sail for the far shores. It takes commitment to the goal and a formidable desire to manifest it. Even intellectually realizing that there is much greater reality waiting to be experienced is a beginning to set new coordinates for our ship. And then we start sailing and practice the simple art of navigation. Every time we use an Ascension Attitude we direct the ship to the goal and that is where it goes, every time. By persistently and regularly practicing ascension commitment is cultivated naturally and is more and more present in our lives. The power of one-pointed focus then becomes ours to wield. And from there begins a whole new journey, a life Divine. Nataraja Ishaya
“To be free from ignorance requires consistency, or the intelligence to make a choice and then stick with it. Nature does not support vacillation. More accurately, Nature does try to support all human desires, but when these desires are mutually contradictory, what can She do? It takes a consistent choice – then and then only can the forces of Natural Law be marshaled to create success.” “Abundance in any area of human concern is always a result of one-pointed commitment. It does not work to say, “ I will change as soon as the external conditions make it possible to change.” God can and will outwait any such ego proposal. What does work is to say, “I will change Now, today; as I move consistently toward my goal, I assume the means will manifest for me.” And of course they do, for instead of resisting the flow of life, the individuality has now aligned with Cosmic Will.” “My Teacher commonly said, “the means gather around sattva.” Purity of life and clarity of intention bring fullfillment in their wake as inevitably as rain comes from cumulonimbus.” MSI
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.” “Indecision brings its own delays, and days are lost lamenting over lost days. Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute; Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it; Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.” Goethe
Now, here are two things you can do immediately to increase your power of commitment. First, make a decision to either get in or get out. Don’t sit on the fence. Become a “meaningful specific” rather than a “wandering generality.” Second, decide in advance that if it is important to you, you will never give up until you have achieved your goal. This decision alone can make all the difference. Wally Amos
Commitment requires a “whatever it may take” attitude. I remember a true story of a man in prison for robbery. While there, a murder was committed and he was falsely accused of the crime. Two prisoners with a grudge against him testified that he had done it. Even though a guard said another man did it, the jury found him guilty. Sentencing guidelines required ‘life without parole’ or ‘death’. The man knew if he were ever to see his freedom, he must be given death penalty. He knew hundreds of men in prison for life who could find no lawyers interested in taking their cases because these men still had life. To get a lawyer willing to take his case and continue the fight ‘pro bono’, he must receive the death sentence. For his only chance to gain freedom, he committed to the death sentence. He got up on the stand before sentencing and told the court every nasty thing he had ever done. He told them not to feel guilty for sentencing him to death because if he was guilty he deserved the maximum penalty. The judge sentenced him to death. He fought his case for 15 years, losing all appeals. As his execution date grew near, doubts and fears grew too, but commitment remained. Then, just days before he was to die, the guilty man came forward and confessed. I heard the man interviewed years later. He continues to believe that the only reason he has his freedom today is because he committed to the death penalty. The interviewer asked him if he ever regretted asking for the death penalty. He said, “Although it was very frightening, it was necessary.” Jyoti Ishaya
“The simplicity of growth of consciousness revolves around the sun of commitment. When one is committed (and the commitment could be to anything) all of Natural Law aligns to bring fulfillment to the commitment. Nature abhors vacillation. If Natural Law vacillated, life would be impossible. Natural Law is forever committed and utterly consistent. Thus life plays across the pages of eternity.” “Equally consistent is the Teaching of Ishayas, the ministers to humankind of full human consciousness, perfect health, flawless wisdom and unending joy. We as Ishayas have a mission to fulfill – we desire the human race to be fulfilled, we desire that the entire Earth rise in full enlightenment and immortality. We have no other purpose, no other desire, no other meaning.” “Once one makes the transformation to commitment, all of life transforms to support. Experiences deepen and clarify, the ability to perceive and know naturally follows.” "From time-to-time, people come to us and say, “I will commit as soon as I experience.” Life works rather in the opposite direction. Experiences deepen and clarify as soon as commitment is made; the ability to perceive and know is a natural byproduct of flawless commitment to the Truth." MSI
